Through photography and interview-style dialogue, this project examines the emotional and personal connections individuals have with cycling. Participants were asked a series of questions, with their responses recorded to capture natural speech and authentic emotion, by pairing these personal narratives with statistics, I created a stark contrast between subjective experience and objective fact. This juxtaposition highlights how data can support, challenge, or reframe personal stories.

Photography plays a key role in grounding the publication in the present, shifting the focus away from memory and towards lived experience. The book uses a limited colour palette, black-and-white imagery, and generous negative space. This restrained design approach removes distractions, drawing the reader into the text and encouraging moments of reflection.
